The mission of UNC Charlotte Cable Television is to provide video communication services that enhance learning and bring inspirational and informative programming to the region. UNC Charlotte Cable Television began broadcasting in August of 1996. We provide over 350,000 households in the Charlotte region with quality educational and University related programming 24 hours a day, every day. Currently, we can be seen in Mecklenburg, Iredell, and a portion of Union counties through Time Warner cable, and on Time Warner Digital Cable, Video On Demand Channel 1234. Our facilities include a fully equipped television studio, non-linear post production suites, field production capabilities, and a fully automated master control system. In addition, satellite reception services are available for educational, public affairs, and athletic programming. Craig Berlin, Director for UNC Charlotte Cable Television, is available to discuss programming on the cable station.

New Features on UNC Charlotte Cable Television:

Waging War on Cancer"Treks in a Wild World". This series takes you to hauntingly beautiful and challenging destinations, combining ecology, anthropology and history with canoeing, biking, hiking, poling, rafting, diving or horse packing. Every action packed episode features outdoor pursuits, while providing a panoramic view of some of the most beautiful and remote places in the world. Watch Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays at 1 pm.

 

eyes of nye"My Brand New Life". This new and oh so cool series is specially created for the younger citizen of the world. In each of these rich programs, youngsters are offered an opportunity to experience an up-close and personal look at peers from a cross-section of countries, cultures and lifestyles. The visually exciting format of the series features contemporary kids from around the world who swap places and lives in their desire to experience A BRAND NEW LIFE. Along the way, many of the preconceived ideas and common stereotypes about people, places, and things will also have a chance to be reflected upon. Watch Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 pm.

 

The Voyageur Exerience in Global Geography

 

 

"Voyageur Experience". Explore diverse lands and experience how people of other cultures deal with global issues in their daily lives. Issues include: changing borders, emerging economies, the global environment, political landscapes, population explosions, global trade, the power of nature, natural resources, the movement of people, and cultural conflict. Watch Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 pm.
