The mission of UNC Charlotte Cable Television is to provide video communication services that enhance learning and bring inspirational and informative programming to the region. UNC Charlotte Cable Television began broadcasting in August of 1996. We provide over 350,000 households in the Charlotte region with quality educational and University related programming 24 hours a day, every day. Currently, we can be seen in Mecklenburg, Iredell, and a portion of Union counties through Time Warner cable, and on Time Warner Digital Cable, Video On Demand Channel 1234. Our facilities include a fully equipped television studio, non-linear post production suites, field production capabilities, and a fully automated master control system. In addition, satellite reception services are available for educational, public affairs, and athletic programming. Craig Berlin, Director for UNC Charlotte Cable Television, is available to discuss programming on the cable station.

New Features on UNC Charlotte Cable Television:

Waging War on Cancer"Sharing Miracles". Hosted by cancer survivor Billy Tauzin, now the president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), this new series features compelling and inspirational patient health care stories. People confronting serious illness or disease need to know -- perhaps more than anything else -- that they are not alone. Every patient's battle is unique, but the collective power of shared experiences can offer great help and courage to others who are fighting for their lives. Watch Saturdays at 11:30 am and Sundays at 9:30 am.

 

eyes of nye"The Shape of Life". New to UNC Charlotte Cable Television, The Shape of Life, explores the natural evidence of evolution. Tag along with scientists as they uncover the mysteries of our Earth's spectacular diversity of animal life. The series features exquisite natural history footage and stunning graphics gleaned from the high definition National Geographic Documentary. Watch Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 1:00pm.

 

The Voyageur Exerience in Global Geography"Voyageur Experience". Explore diverse lands and experience how people of other cultures deal with global issues in their daily lives. Issues include: changing borders, emerging economies, the global environment, political landscapes, population explosions, global trade, the power of nature, natural resources, the movement of people, and cultural conflict. Watch Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 pm.
