The mission of UNC Charlotte Cable Television is to provide video communication services that enhance learning and bring inspirational and informative programming to the region. UNC Charlotte Cable Television began broadcasting in August of 1996. We provide over 350,000 households in the Charlotte region with quality educational and University related programming 24 hours a day, every day. Currently, we can be seen in Mecklenburg, Iredell, and a portion of Union counties through Time Warner cable, and on Time Warner Digital Cable, Video On Demand Channel 1234. Our facilities include a fully equipped television studio, non-linear post production suites, field production capabilities, and a fully automated master control system. In addition, satellite reception services are available for educational, public affairs, and athletic programming. Jaclyn Allmon, Program Director for UNC Charlotte Cable Television, is available to discuss programming on the cable station.
July Features on UNC Charlotte Cable Television:
"Waging War on Cancer". Hosted by CNN's top rated host, Paula Zahn, this commanding new mini-series uncovers the amazing medical strides in cancer research and treatment, featuring the most prominent cancer experts. Waging War on Cancer also takes you to meet patients who are living testaments to the significant progress being made as they share their personal stories of hope and survival. Watch Mondays, 9:30 am and 9:30 pm.
"In Good Shape". New to UNC Charlotte Cable Television, In Good Shape, focuses on healthy living and preventative care. Topics include wellness and fitness, nutrition and beauty, therapy and prevention, alternative medicine and trends in medical treatment. In Good Shape looks at the whole spectrum of health, mind, body and spirit. Tune in Mondays at 12:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
"IEX". Extreme sports and extreme fun on UNC Charlotte Cable Television. Surfing, biking, skating, wheels, wings and fins: if it rocks, it’s IEX! The latest trends and the highest performance. Emotive, energetic, unique... Saturdays at 12:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm.
